We are really excited about our upcoming Sips ’n Seafood event on Friday, July 16th. Once again we’ve teamed up with Finest at Sea (FAS) Seafoods to serve a scrumptious bounty from our local waters. FAS is a Victoria owned fishing and wholesale company who practise sustainable fishing and deliver the freshest food we’ve ever tasted. Yum!
Last year, our guests blissed out on snowy white Dungeness crab chased by ice cold craft beer and BC wines. Our talented chefs crafted boulibase (served from steaming kettles on our seaside patio) and baked salmon, while FAS served various styles of smoked salmon and tuna – prepared in their plant just four blocks away. Chef Horen shucked oysters for guests and served them with an array of surprising condiments.
Ah, but I mustn’t miss the sips. Victoria Gin served a clever concoction of muddled fruits and mint with their lovely local gin, a brilliant accompaniment to the oysters. Half a dozen wineries were invited, pairing their vintages with each offering.
I can think of no nicer way to spend a warm summer evening than on our seaside terrace, wandering in our gardens with a glass of wine in hand, and watching the sun melt into a magenta ocean. Please join me! Tickets are just 99 clams and available at our front desk or on the Taste: Victoria Festival website.
Remember – stay different!
